Believe it or not, this topsy turvy cake is a fake cake, stranded at Melanie's apartment in Salt Lake City! I took an amazing class from Carrie Biggers in Sandy, Utah and this is the result (but then no way to get it home on the plane). RED VELVET CAKE
The perfect Valentine Cake....red velvet with cream cheese frosting. This is what I'm working on today for a party tonight. Just a sheet cake, but I will somehow make it fancy. I woke up at 6 am and couldn't stop thinking of my design for the topsy turvy cake. It's gonna be awesome! I have been watching all the amazing cake shows on tv lately. I get so inspired by them. Every cake designer says, "I never thought this is what I would be doing, but I love it." That's how I feel. Mom is taking a cake decorating class in Oregon. She says she is just doing it for fun, but what I wish is that she would love it, move to california and design cakes with me. She is an artist and would be a great partner. Time to make frosting!

I wasn't quite sure what I wanted my wedding cake to look like. I had my colors picked out and bits and pieces I liked from certain cakes. I shared my ideas with Suzanne and she just went to work. My cake was a masterpiece. It turned out absolutely perfect, better than I could have ever imagined. Every detail fit my theme as well as my personality. Also the cake tasted delicious, by far the best cake I have ever tasted! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding cake! Thank you!

I found a picture of the cake I wanted in a bridal magazine and it turned out even better than the picture! The cake ribbons matched the colors of my wedding perfectly. One of my favorite parts of the cake was the beautiful flowers that Suzanne made, I still have some of them! Not only was the cake absolutely beautiful, it tasted amazing as well. The dark chocolate flavor was perfectly matched with the raspberry filling. The cake was definitely the centerpiece of our outdoor wedding, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect cake.

Everything about my cake was perfect! It was simple and elegant and exactly what I asked for. Both my husband and I thought it was one of the tastiest cakes we have ever tasted too. Our cake pictures in our album turned out to be among my favorite. And maybe even best of all the buttercream frosting didn't even stain my dress when I got cake lovingly smashed in my face!
